thanksgiving got me thinking so i am going to leave this blog short, i wanna know what everyone did during their break, who they spent the holiday with, and what is the thing that you are most thankful for this year?

i ate thanksgiving dinner at my house with my brother, sister, mother, father, pap, and grandmother.  i am most thankful for the fact i have a family who loves me with out judgment unconditionally!!

My roommates and I were under the impression that by informing the judge that we were unaware that the detectors did not have batteries in them, that we would be let go with a warning.  

however we each recieved a 135.65 dollar fine.  

I find this unfair, Irent my house from our landlord, is it not his job to make sure everything is up to code?  Does that mean if the structure of my house is not up to code, i will have to pay a fine?

I am just upset and irritated by this situation.

Has anybody else had issues with code enforcement here in Morgantown?

this weekend i went with a cheap costume, dressing up in a flanel, dickies, and a tang top trying to imitate a mexican gangsta from california.  I went out both friday and saturday night to house parties then made my way eventually to the bar. which go me to thinking…..?

What types of costumes did people wear this weekend for Halloween?

Did most people go to a house party? a bar? or both this past weekend.

i am one student who is not totally worried about his grades, however i need to focus more on school and dedicate  more time to studying.

i was wondering how other students feel…..

are most students pleased with where they are academically this term?

or are students feeling the pressure to buckle down with their academics?

and if students need to improve…..how are you going to change?

So as recently as two weeks ago my friends and i have begun going to the Boston Beanary every Monday night for 35 cent wings and $1 drafts.  it is a time when most of us have not yet begun the demanding schedule of school work for the week.  the first week it was jackie, jen, brad, and myself that went out together.  this past week we were able to recruit two of our other friends to come join us.

it is nice to sit, chat, eat a lil food and have a couple of drinks while talking about the great weekend we just had and what plans we have for the upcoming week.  hopefuly next week we can get some of our other friends to come out and join us.

Does anybody else do something or go somewhere every week with their group of friends?

If so what type of things or places do you go to?

I began the day by waking up at nine o’clock, getting dressed and heading to the front of Ruby Memorial Hospital for the football tailgate and breakfest.  me and my friends continued to eat, drink, and laugh up until gametime saturday, spending time with current students, alumni, and potentail future students.

this led me to think…..

what do most students do on game days? go to game of stay in house or dorm?

Do they typuically tailgate or party at their house before the game?

and how many students DO NOT drink before the game?

Being a 22 year-old male student I find the university to be extremely safe.  I have never had anything more than a run in with another student who seemed intoxicated threatening to destroy me me.  However I do not take things like that seriously do to the fact that people say crazy things when they have a little whiskey on their breath.

But this got me thinking…..

Do students both male and female feel that West Virginia University has a safe campus?

Are there more dangers at night on campus concerning female students vs. male  students?

What if any precautionary measures do students take before heading out the house for a night on the town?

     Not only did were we forced to wait 20 mins when there are four empty ready to rock n’ roll PRT’s looking right at us.  But now instead of there only being 5 people getting on the PRT there was, what seemed like 3 dozen people.  It is ridiculous that the 5 or so of us that had been waiting for 20 mins could not have gotten on earlier when it was more comfortable to get on the PRT.

I think that in general there should be a PRT leaving every five minutes to their respected PRT station destinations.  So that everyone knows that every five mins i have a chance to get to where i need to go.  And if you miss the PRT no big deal because you only have to wait five more minutes and you can get on another one.

I wonder if anyone will every fix the hassle of riding the PRT?
